Wynona D. Billington

Wynona “Davene” Billington age 76, of Weyauwega, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Davene was born February 16, 1936, in Aiken, South Carolina, the daughter of Daniel and Sallie Mae Rogers. On September 15, 1956 she married Harold Billington in Greenville, South Carolina. He preceded her in death in May of 2012.

Davene is survived by three children: Berray Billington of Appleton; Cheryl (Mark) Weaver of De Pere; and Kathy (Mark Lemke) of Appleton; eight grandchildren: Bryan (Mellissa) Schumacher, Jordan (Jessica) Schumacher, Joshua Oehlke, Mackenzie Oehlke, Emily Billington, Elizabeth Billington, Eleanor Billington, Rachel Lemke; 3 great-grandchildren: Caydance , Amelia, and Grant Schumacher; 2 step-grandchildren, Megan and Haylee Weaver of Appleton and their families; and other friends and relatives.

Davene, who was also known as Billie was a registered nurse for more than 35 years, retiring from Bethany Home in Waupaca in 1998. She was known for her compassion and her sense of humor. She would have been proud of those she trained over the years in the caring field that in the end cared for her.

A Memorial Service in celebration of Davene's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Pine Street in Weyauwega on Saturday, December 22 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

Mom and Dad did not miss a Christmas together in 56 years and they will be celebrating together once again this year.
