Mary Wegner left a message on April 6, 2009:
Dear Weiss Family, I would like to send my sympathy in the passing of Bill. I knew him when he was the Chief in the Town of Menasha & he worked on my daughter Laurie Depies' missing person case. Bill was a kind & understanding person. He was also very helpful in keeping me informed regularly as to how the investigation was going. I remember when he decided to retire from the Department he called me personally to express his sadness that he had to retire before Laurie's case was solved as he had promised when it all started in 1992, he'd stick with it until the end. I would like to express my appreciation for all Bill did while he was on Laurie's case - he was a wonderful public servant & a very caring man. My deepest sympathy, Mary Wegner
