Wesley W. Vruwink, age 78, passed away peacefully with his family at his side. He was born on December 3, 1930 in Waldo, WI; son of the late Walter W. and Florence A. (Dorst) Vruwink. On January 22, 1955 in Hingham, WI, he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Zimmermann. Wesley served his country as a seargent with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and also as a front line medic with the 72nd Tank Battalion, 2nd Infantry, Indian Head Division. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Ann Vruwink, Grand Chute; his four children, Randy (Jean) Vruwink, New London, Cheryl (Michael) Seebach, Wauwatosa, Al (special friend, Krystal) Vruwink, (The Compound), Iola and Carrie (Chris) Quandt, Neenah; his grandchildren, Amber (Dean) Witterholt, Jarod (special friend, Janelle) Dain, Kaylyn and Greg Seebach, Andrea Vruwink and Zachary Hoffman; his great-granchildren, Dalton and Isaiah Witterholt; his sister, Edith Kuenzie, Florida and his sister-in-law, Josephine (Ray) Gainey, Denver, CO. A memorial service for Wesley will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Park Chapel, 3131 N. Richmond Ave., Appleton with Rev. Mary Bauer officiating. Family and friends may visit at the cemetery chapel on Saturday from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Military honors will follow the service on Saturday. A memorial fund is being established in his name.
