Wayde P. Gillen

June 5, 1959 — July 1, 2009

Wayde P. Gillen, age 50, passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 5, 1959 in Neenah; son of Victor and Patricia (Juliot) Gillen. On February 14, 1986, he married Bonnie Sue Braaten. Wayde started playing guitar when he was nine years old. He played lead guitar in several local bands for many years. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Gillen, Appleton, his mother, Patricia Gillen, Appleton, his sister, Vickie Gillen, Menasha and his brothers, Patrick Gillen and Chad (Terri) Gillen, both of Appleton. Wayde is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father and an aunt, Betty Luebker. Funeral services for Wayde will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 912 N. Oneida St., Appleton with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in his name.

Wayde's family would like to say thank you to the staffs of Theda Care at Home Hospice and Martha Seikman Cancer Center for their loving care and concern.

For 23 years we never missed a day saying “I love you” and I will continue to say it for the rest of my life. I will miss you every minute of everyday. – Bonnie Sue.
