Warren R. Shaw

September 1, 1921 — August 10, 2003

Age 81, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 10, 2003. Warren was born in French Camp, California on September 1, 1921, son of the late Paul H. and Mary Ann (Bench) Shaw. On August 3, 1942, he married the former Katherine "Kay" Blake in Reno, Nevada; she survives. During World War II, Warren served faithfully as a member of the United States Navy, and was stationed at the Alameda Naval Air Station. Following his discharge, he was employed by Columbia Steel in Pittsburgh, California and by the San Jose Mercury News in San Jose, California. In 1958, the family relocated to Idaho where Warren was employed as a tailsaw operator by Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1983. In 1993, they family moved to the Fox Valley. Warren was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed ceramics. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and faithfully served as a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife: Kay Shaw of Little Chute; two sons: Donald W. (Donna) Shaw of Seattle, Washington and Gary W. (Janice) Shaw of Kimberly; three daughters: Lynn D. (Bruce) McDonald of Cut Bank, Montana, Anna M. (George) Leteer of Onalaska, Washington, and Bonnie L. Leteer of Jelico, Tennessee; twenty-three grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a sister: Melba Martarano of Payette, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers, a grandson, and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services for Warren will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2003 at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, 425 W. Park Ridge Avenue in Appleton, with Bishop John Ponczoch presiding. The dedication of the grave will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Neenah where military memorial honors will be provided by members of Kimberly's William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 7 PM and again Thursday at the church from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
