Warren J. Welch

Warren J. Welch, age 83, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011, at The Renaissance in Appleton. Warren was born on July 29, 1927, in Black Creek, son of the late Jesse and Alma (Sasman) Welch. Warren graduated from Shiocton High School. He worked as a teacher for over 40 years. In 1973, he was married to Lana Szitta in Hawaii. Warren loved to play the accordion, traveling, especially to Alaska and Europe, trips to the casino, and organizing Sheepshead tournaments.

Warren is survived by his wife, Lana; a brother, Donald (Darlene) Welch; and two nephews, Kenneth (Tamara) Welch, and Ronald “Toby” (Nancy) Welch, and their children.

A memorial visitation for Warren will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at The Renaissance for their loving care, compassion, and support.
