Walter P. Borree

April 12, 1910 — March 14, 2003

Age 92, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born April 12, 1910 in the Calumet County town of Woodville, son of the late Louis and Bertha (Haase) Borree. He married the former Caroline E. Krueger on November 18, 1933; she preceded him in death in 1989. Walter was employed at International (Thilmany) Paper for over thirty-two years, retiring in 1972 as a member of the Quarter-Century Club. He was a lifetime member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodville and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making woodcrafts.

Survivors include three sons: Kenneth (Carol) Borree of Kaukauna, David (Sharon) Borree of Kaukauna, and Darold (Cheryl) Borree of St. Francis; three daughters: Lois (Melvin) Lendt of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Sharon (Roger) Steinberg of New London, and Betty (John) Pogrant of Kaukauna; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four brothers: Louis Borree, Arthur (Irene) Borree, Raymond (Janet) Borree, and Ralph Borree, all of Kaukauna; a sister: Mildred (Robert) Beford of Menasha; three brothers-in-law: Roger Ott of Menasha, Gerhardt Krueger of Sheboygan, and Peter Loderbauer of Kimberly; a sister-in-law: Myrtle Broker of Chilton. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Caroline in 1989, a granddaughter Jennifer Pogrant in 1983, five brothers, a sister, three brothers-in-law, and eight sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at ST. JOHN EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, N9125 Military Road in Woodville with Rev. Paul Fanning officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4 – 8 PM and again Tuesday at the church from 11 AM until the hour of the services.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul Elder Services as well as Dr. Jack Meyer. Your care and support over the past weeks and months has been outstanding.
