Virginia H. Kohl

Virginia H. Kohl, age 86, of Kimberly, passed away at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living in Kaukauna, on Saturday, October 13, 2012. Virginia was born on September 14, 1926, in Appleton, to the late Arno and Ruth (Jacob) Zillges. She married Kenneth Kohl, on February 8, 1947. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always there for her family. Virginia was well known for making many quilts and Christmas ornaments for family and friends. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, traveling and attending garage sales. With Kenneth, she enjoyed many years of entertaining friends and family at the cottage at Lake Poygan.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Kenneth; her daughter, Donna (Tim) Hartjes; her grandchildren, Brad (Dana) Hartjes, Troy (Maureen) Hartjes, Amy (Reed) Swick, Kari Hartjes, and Wendi (Keith) Doszak; her great grandchildren, Emma and Nina Hartjes; Henry, Harrison, Mya and Magdalyn Hartjes; Hallorin, Roy, Katherine and Elizabeth Swick; and Tessa Mae, Lucy, Calvin and Griffin Doszak; her sisters-in-law, Carol Mauthe, Rita Froehlich, Evie Kohl, Betty Kohl and Sue (Biff) Vander Velden; and her sisters, Shirley “Skippy” Vander Wielen, and Janet (Paul) Frakes. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews other relative and friends. Virginia was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth “Buzz” Kohl: her sister, Bernice (Joe) Friday; her brothers, Gordon (Kate) Zillges and Russell (Gert) Zillges; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Vander Wielen, Clint (Mabel) Kohl, Edward Kohl, Laverne Kohl, Jimmy Kohl, Don Froehlich and Nibs Mauthe; her parents in-law, Katherine and Walter Kohl; and her sisters-in-law, Mugsy (Bob) Vander Velden, Mary (Al) Keefe.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at MOUNT CALVARY LUTHERAN CHURCH, N8728 S. Coop Road, Menasha, with Rev. Jesse Johnston officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living, and Rev. Jesse Johnston, for their loving care.
