Debbe Wereley Lutter left a message on November 24, 2011:
Hi Sherry and family, We are sorry for the loss of Vi or "Filz" as we called her. My mother Tommie Wereley and Vi Williamsen and Vi Filz were great friends for many years. We needed to clarify which Vi we were speaking to, hence the nick name "Filz". I was included in many of the events these 3 fine women shared. I always enjoyed their company and found much pleasure in being in their presence. Tommie is now 99 years old and not as agile as she once was. Therefore through this message we extend to you our sympathy in the loss of your dear Mother. We loved Filz and enjoyed her friendship over the years. She was truely a lady in the fine sense of the word. May the good Lord be with you at this difficult time and bless you with peace. Love, Tommie Wereley and Debbe Lutter.

Dear Sherry and family, I hope that you are celebrating the life of a wonderful lady!! Viola was a dear friend and fellow teacher. In fact she hired me to teach phy. ed at Plamann School in 1976, and we have remained friends all these years, even after I got married and moved to Watertown. I remember the year that Char, her mom, Viola and I went on vacation to the Kentucky/Tennesse area. What fun we had! I was glad that I was able to visit Vi this spring and we had a wonderful visit, along with Julie Stegeman. I'm sorry that I won't be able to join you on Sat., but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I'll be thinking of you and Vi. Sue Plumb O'Connor

We are so sorry for your loss. Your mother certainly was a special mother, teacher, relative and friend to many. We will never forget the help she gave my mother after surgery and when she was ill, but that was Aunt Viola. We are sorry we can not be with you and your family on Saturday, but we are celebrating our Christmas in Cedar Rapids on Saturday with our son, Keith. We leave for Texas early in December and this is the only time we could get the whole family together. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Marilyn & Orlie
