Mary (Van Deraa) Heimmermann left a message on December 12, 2021:
My flat-out best childhood friend has left this earth, having made it so much better by her being in it. Vickie, you were one of the kindest, gentlest, most thoughtful persons I know. You made my childhood so much fun! The 'ship' your Dad made for us in the yard when a fresh load of lumber was delivered. The endless I Love Lucy shows we watched together. Caring for LuLu's kittens after they were born. Playing kick the can or marbles long after dark. And my favorite memory of all: Raising a few dozen chicks up in the second floor of your house! I'm so blessed for having such a great friend in you. Heaven just became a kinder place through your presence.
