Age 84, passed away peacefully at Chute Pond on Friday, October 17, 2008. She was born in Woodville, WI on November 4, 1923 the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Clara Krueger. On June 6, 1942 she married her husband of 54 years, Roy Rusch. Verna worked for J.C. Penney's for thirty-five years. She was active with the Ladies Aid and the L.W.M.S. at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Her interests included ceramics, her yard and garden, and fishing.

Verna is survived by her children: Carolyn (Tom) Litscher of Chute Pond and Craig (Janet) Rusch of Odessa, TX; grandchildren: Jason, Jonathon and Brett Rusch, Chad (Allison) Rusch, Cecily (Jason) Womack, Jeff, Shawn (Sally), Tim (Pam) Litscher, and Melissa (Scott) Skarban; seven great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Karen Clay. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy; son, Conrad; grandson, Christopher; and brother, Harold Krueger.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at ST. PAUL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 208 N. Morrison St., Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.
