Verna L. Van Hout

Verna L. Van Hout, age 88, lifetime resident of Kimberly, passed away at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna on Saturday, October 31, 2015. Verna was born on November 28, 1926, in Ortonville, Minnesota to the late Floyd T. and Mary (Derks) Lambert. She married Tony Van Hout on October 26, 1946, in Kimberly. Verna was well known for her strong volunteering spirit. She volunteered at her children's schools, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Verna was a member of RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), was the Girl Scout Cookie Sale Coordinator for many years, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 60, and the Papermaker Players.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Tony; her children, Toni (Dick) Van Hammond, Peggy (Jerry) Wallenfang, Linda (Dennis) Luebke, Luanne (Jeff) Moureau, Jeanne Recker, Bob (Marcia) Van Hout, Sue (Tom) Gau, and Mike (Xiao Li) Van Hout; 26 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren; her step-sister, Yvonne (Ken) Klein; and her step-brother, David (Carol) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her step-father, Glen Anderson, and her sisters, Betty Van Cuyk and Ione Jansen.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at HOLY SPIRIT/HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Bob Kollath officiating. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly.
