Ursulla M. Kuschel

October 10, 1927 — August 24, 2017

Ursulla Mae Kuschel passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the age of 89. She was born on October 10, 1927 in a farmhouse near Pound, Wisconsin, to the late Joseph and Agnes (Wolfe) Murphy. Ursy met the love of her life, Jerry Kuschel, at a church roller skating party during a semester break. She stumbled, he picked her up off the floor and swept her off her feet. She graduated from Marinette High School in 1945. Jerry and Ursy married on September 19, 1948. They moved to Appleton and celebrated forty-eight years together. Ursy worked at the Alko Supermarket on Richmond Street and for over twenty years at the Super Value grocery store on Meade Street as a stock clerk and lead checker. Ursy was a longtime and faithful member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She loved traveling on adventures all over the country with her son and grandson, as well as fishing, walking, eating, and entertaining. Her greatest joys were in caring for her family, extended family, and her many friends.

Ursy is survived by her son: Joe (Catherine Schuda) Kuschel; a grandson: David (Rachel) Kuschel; two great-granddaughters: Eva and Dakota; two brothers: Francis (Carol) Murphy and Jim Murphy; a sister: Marilyn (Rod) Chell; a sister-in-law: Carol Murphy; and a step-sister: Kathy Kapla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry, brothers David and Paul, and a step-sister Beverly (Daryl) Guay.

Ursy’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park, at 2:00 PM Tuesday. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the church on Tuesday morning from 8:30 AM until 10:45 AM.

Ursy’s family would like to thank the many compassionate and caring staff members at Rennes Health and Rehab Center, as well as Compassus Hospice. We couldn’t have successfully taken this journey without you.

Those who pass from this earth truly die only when those they love forget them. Mom we love you, and you will never be forgotten.
