Todd A. Gunderson

July 23, 1965 — July 22, 2013

Todd Gunderson, age 47, passed to the Lord's care very unexpectedly, while at work on Monday, July 22, 2013. Todd was born in Appleton on July 23, 1965, the son of Bob and Sharon (Eickhoff) Gunderson. He was a 1983 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School. On August 29, 1992, Todd married Dawn Bosin at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Greenville, and the couple was blessed with a daughter Jordan and a son Reid.

Todd was a talented guy – he was a self-employed finish carpenter, loved the spring walleye run on the Wolf River, various fishing tournaments, golfing, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, hunting, and just being outdoors. More than anything, Todd loved being a dad and a husband.

He will be sadly missed by his dear wife, Dawn; his daughter: Jordan and her special friend Joshua Malkowski; his son: Reid and his special friend Emily Lautenschlager; his parents: Bob and Sharon Gunderson of Hortonville; Dawn's parents: Jan Bosin of Greenville and Gordon Bosin of Shawano; his siblings: Julie (Al) Foskett of Appleton; Randy Gunderson of Appleton and his special friend Briana Rygg; Jamie Dahms of Appleton and her fiancé Mark Ellis; and Teri (Dave) Schneider of DePere; and by Dawn's brothers: Todd (Tricia) Bosin of Greenville and Michael (Randi) Bosin of Butternut, Wisconsin. There are also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and countless friends.

The Christian Funeral Service for Todd will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 26, 2013 at IMMANUEL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, at the intersection of School and Julius Roads in Greenville. Rev. John Qualmann and Rev. David Scharf will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends directly at the church on Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the worship service at 7:00 PM.

HI HONEY. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH !!!!! We all miss you beyond words. I will try very hard to go on with Jordan and Reid by my side until we meet you in our heavenly home. You were the BEST, and you know that. That's how we felt about each other. Our greatest blessings together were our children, and I know how much you loved them and were sooooo proud of them. Please help me and watch over them daily when I can't always be there. You did the most perfect carpentry job in EVERY home you worked on. They won't find anyone who comes close to you. Your love of fishing . . . what can I say. You were the “MASTER”. Those who fished with you are forever grateful. Your faith was there and you never doubted in your Savior. Thank you so much for that. Last but not least, marriage – we always knew it was us together. I know you were looking forward to future years when you could “chase me around the house.” Promise me you will chase after me in heaven? We ache for you, but are proud of you, and you will be in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, my love. –Dawn.

Hi Daddy, I woke up this morning with a strange sense of comfort. I keep looking at the door, thinking you are going to walk in the house……but, you are already Home. Even though it seems as though you were taken from us all too soon, I know the Lord has a plan for us. You always told me, “You can do anything in life you set your mind to, provided it is powered by your heart.” The Lord knew your time here on earth was limited and He allowed you to live life to the fullest and do what you love. I've always looked up to you, and wanted nothing more than to make you proud. You were always a man of your word. A few weeks ago, you promised me that you would come to watch me dance as many times as you could this year. You sure aren't going to miss a dance ever again! I know where I will find you – front and center. I will always have you there alongside of me. Please be with mom and Reid – help them cope while I am gone to school, fill the gap with the love and joy that you had here on this earth. You are an inspiration to all that you leave behind. You will be greatly missed. But don't worry – because of you and mom, we are surrounded by so much love and comfort. Thank you for providing me with the best life and giving me the strength (and stubborness) to handle this crazy life. I am determined to live up to your expectations. Mom will always be in good hands, and so will Reid. You raised a great young man and he's gonna walk me down the aisle with you beside us the whole way. We will stay strong and stick together, for you, until we meet again. Love you forever, Your Peanut.

Dear dad, What I am going to miss most about you being in heaven is having you physically at every game. My whole life, I only remember you missing two games. Dad, you are my best friend and always will be. Thank you so much for always being there for me and teaching me everything I know. You made me into a mini-you, and I can't wait to see you again sometime soon. I know you will be watching every single one of my baseball games, and I promise to work hard always and be strong for mom and Jordan. I love you, and I always will. Keep an eye on all of us – I got eyes on Mom and Jordan. Dad, if you ever want to find me, I will be driving around in YOUR truck. I'll keep good care of it, like I will of Mom and Jordan. Just so you know, I am keeping my sled and am going to race another year. I know you always loved coming to watch and support. Ride alongside of me on the track, and remind me of your famous motivational words: “Hit it, Reid-A-Bug!” You were always my idol, best friend, and the man I looked up to, you made me who I am today, and I can't think you enough. I love you sooo much. You were a great guy and an even better dad. You will be missed by many, and I promise to stay here for you. I miss you Bud, have a blast fishing up in heaven. I love you. I will take care of the girls like you always did. You're the best dad in the whole world. Love, The Bug.
