Theresa Mary Buchner, of Kimberly, age 75 passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family after a year-long battle with cancer on Monday, December 26th, 2011. Theresa was born August 14, 1936, to the late Earl and Elizabeth (Rueden) Hooyman, Shiocton. Theresa was married to her loving late husband Walter Buchner in Cancun in February 9, 1983.

Theresa enjoyed the three B's, Bingo, Bowling, and Brewers. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family playing Canasta. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary Post #60 for many years and carried the flag in many of the Kimberly Memorial celebrations. She was a devoted member of Kimberly Holy Spirit Parish, helped with special needs religion and volunteered with the needy and homeless.

Theresa is survived by her seven children: Michael (Jane) Newhouse, Cindy (Guy) Van Lanen, Patty (Doug) West, Lora Newhouse, Susan (Douglas) Korth, Tim (fiancee, Barb Jonet) Newhouse and Joy (Ed) Casper; nine grandchildren: Heather (Chris) Groth, Jason Newhouse, Tret and Taryn West, Scott (Alicia) and Ryan (Christina) Korth, Josh Newhouse and Joseph and Elizabeth Casper; three great-grandchildren: Linken, Deklen and Orren Korth. She is also survived by two sisters: Helena (Nick) Kruzicki and Rose Ann (Donald) Smith; two sisters-in-law: Audrey (Eugene) Blake and Mary Lou (Don) Dorn; and brother-in-law, Roland Kanaman; many godchildren, nieces, nephews; and two special friends: Muriel Gardner and Shirley LeClaire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Buchner; siblings: Herb (Agnes) Hooyman, Hildegarde (Victor) Fermanich, Butch Hooyman, Betty Kanaman, Clara (Leander) Petit, and Eugene Hooyman.

The funeral liturgy will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, Kimberly Campus, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, with Fr. Dave Beaudry officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park at a later date.

Special thanks to the Oncology and Radiation departments at AMC and to the special caregivers with Theda Care Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Theresa's name is being established.
