Tana Leigh Allen

June 14, 1949 — March 4, 2011

Tana L. Allen, age 61, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2011, at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. Tana was born on June 14, 1949, in Luddington, Michigan, daughter of William “Bill” and Kathleen “Dolly” (Mashak) Sauriol. Some people simply live and some live with a purpose. Tana lived her life with a mission to fulfill a purpose. With dignity and grace, she fulfilled that mission to it's fullest as a wife, mother, friend, mentor, and confidant. Toward the end of her life, she didn't understand all the fuss over her passing by so many who came to visit, send flowers, messages, and well wishes. The purpose in her heart was not to do things for recognition or reward, only to make others feel better. A rare quality indeed. Her husband and children adored, respected, and loved her to the fullest, and she knew it. Tana's friends, too numerous to count, knew her as caring, funny, charming, and a true Christian lady. These are not musings or speculation, but truths. Her favorite scripture as a Bible study teacher is Isaiah 40:31, and she did just that. To say Tana will be missed is inadequate, but if you truly knew her, you are a better person for it.
Tana is survived by her husband, Wayne; her daughter, Jodi (John) Moynihan; her son, Jeffrey (Michelle) Allen; her grandchildren, Brooklynn Allen, Brandon Allen, Matthew Vohris, Patrick Moynihan, Shawna Vorhis, and Ricky Vohris; a brother, Dan (Sheila) Sauriol; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Dolly and Bill Sauriol; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Sauriol.
The Celebration of Life for Tana will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the APOSTOLIC TRUTH CHURCH, 2720 Kesting Ct., Appleton, with Rev. Aaron Soto officiating. Friends may call on Friday, March 11, 2011, at the church from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Tana's name may be made to a fund being established. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Cherry Meadows for their loving care, compassion, and support.
