Nancy, Judy and Mary, Carol just called me this morning. I am so sorry. Too many deaths recently. It can stop now. Your mom was so kind to me and my family. She treated Emma like one of her own grandchildren. Hopefully your memories and new stories you may hear at the funeral will help you through your grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Love and compassion always,

Carla Bastjan Hannemann left a message on April 6, 2009:
Dear Judy, Nancy & Mary: My brother, Vern Bastjan, just called to let me know that your mother had died. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Henry & Sylvia were an important part of Carl & Edna's life. I can remember the weekends we used to spend at your house when all us kids were little. Your Mom was always such a gracious hostess. We enjoyed seeing your Mom even after your Dad had died. Wayne and she often stopped to see Mom and Dad at the nursing home. We first met Wayne with your Mom at my parents' 90th birthday dinner. (Dec., 2001) It was interesting to hear about all their dancing and other activities. We were sorry to hear from my Mom that your mother was not well. Our sincere sympathies as you grieve your Mother's death.
Kathy Hansen left a message on April 6, 2009:
Judy, Nancy, Mary Thinking of you at this time. I have fond memories of your Mom, my first cousin. She invited me to stay at her home when I was in WI for my father's funeral. We played pool, went to the movies-she was so tickled to get out of the house. Your Mom and my Mom (her Aunt Marian) were very close as children for they were only 4 years apart. They shared a love for dancing and so when your Mom met Wayne I was so happy for her as she could dance the night away and live life to the fullest in her twilight years. Your mother had an infectious smile that brought sunshine to any room she was in. Your Mom is surely dancing away in heaven. Kathy Hansen (Marian Schultz Hansen's daughter)
