Suzanne Wallschlaeger

Sue was born in Milwaukee to Robert and Mildred Somers.

She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from West High School in 1947, thereafter moving to Fond du lac with her family. She earned a degree in clothing design from Mount Mary College in 1951. Sue married Edward H. Wallschlaeger in 1951 and together they raised their family in Milwaukee and later, Brookfield. Sue and Ed were married for 45 years when he passed away in 1997.

Sue is survived by her brother, Robert J. Somers (Ann) of Ripon, and sister, Judith Streeter (Stan) of Wautoma. Sue is predeceased by her sister Jane Glaser (the late Joseph) of Green Bay. She is also survived by all of her children, Edward (Eileen), Ellen Aldrich (Andrew), Mary Stivers, John (Tamie), Jane Zien (Donald), Terese Kerrigan (Mark), William (Lori), Thomas (Jennifer) and Nancy. Sue’s love and her baked goods will be sorely missed by her grandchildren, Rory Stivers, Marshall and Madeline Aldrich, Will (Britanie), Alex, Ben, Hailey, Emily, Oliver, Nick, Luke, and Isabel Wallschlaeger, and great-grandson Jackson Wallschlaeger. Sue’s gentle kindness, love, and generosity will surely be missed by countless others, including other family, friends and neighbors over all the years, and her cherished Mah Jongg friends.

The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. Adam Bradley officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the Mass at church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
