SUSAN C. LUTZ
of Appleton, age 105 years, died Friday, October 14, 2005 at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center. She was born May 10, 1900 in Appleton the daughter of the late Christian and Amelia (Heinrich) Dautermann. Susan married Edward E. Lutz on May 5, 1918. She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Appleton. Susan was a charter member and past president of the Oney Johnston-Blessman American Legion Auxillary Post #38 and past state president. She was the first woman to serve on the Appleton Board of Education and a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 25 years.
Susan is survived by her loving family, her daughter, Rita (Robert) McMahon of Appleton, 6 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, her daughter, Marion (John) Helm and two grandchildren, Paula and Kurt Helm, six brothers and five sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, October 17, 2005 at WICHMANN TRI COUNTY CHAPEL with Rev. Jane Anderson officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in Susan’s name.
