I continue to be stunned and terribly saddened at the untimely and unexpected passing of my dear friend, Sue. I will always miss her. Whenever I think of Sue, I will remember her warmth and goodness. I will always be grateful to her for her kindness to our son Dan who worked for her when she was Executive Director of Special Olympics. No one could have asked for a better mentor or boss when first entering the workforce. He was so fond of her and they continued to be in touch after both went on to work for other non-profits. Sue was “mother” to so many, not only to her two sons, Brian and Jon and my own son, Dan, but to the hundreds, maybe thousands of lives she touched with her tenderness and loving compassion and care.

Dear Lynch Family -- Sue and I were members of the Rotary Club together for the last several years. She was such a committed volunteer and made a huge contribution of time and skill to help our Club to ship valuable medical supplies around the globe. I have admired her commitment and that we could always count on her. That is the wonderful woman I will remember and we will all miss dearly. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Brian, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I saw Dori's post via Facebook (when the search began) and was heartbroken to hear of your mom's passing. Your mom seemed to be a beautiful soul who will, no doubt, be greatly missed. I know I haven't seen or spoken to you for many years, but I felt compelled to send you my regards. I wish you all strength and peace through this difficult time. My deepest sympathies, Emily Salm (Solberg)

I am still numb after seeing her smiling face in the paper Friday evening announcing her leaving this world for a much better place. I hurt so much inside, as many of you I'm sure. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I first met Sue years ago when she worked at the Special Olympics office and then had the privledge of working with her as a volunteer for the ARC Tea Party Fashion Show. She was such a remarkable person, always encouraging with even the littlest donation I would acquire. Our little girl Grace, with Down Syndrome, always LOVED getting her personal thank you note in the mail from Sue thanking her for modeling and telling her how beautiful she was walking the runway. Sue had so much love for all, young and old, with special needs. Grace and I will miss her smiling, bubbling personality and warm greetings. Things will just not be the same without her. How blessed those are who are enjoying her company in Heaven. I miss you, Sue!

"Some people come into our lives and quietly go. Others stay for a while and leave their footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same." Sue was one of those people. The impact she has made on others will live on forever. Sue's beautiful smile and generous spirit is what I loved most. I am so privileged to have been able to call her my friend for the past 20 years. Sue may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. Sue's legacy lives on in her beautiful family. You all have our deepest sympathy and prayers, and you have the support of many in the days and months ahead. As Sue would tell us all, "you can do it". God bless you all. Sue & Gary Gielau

Jon and Family; We are so sorry for your loss. Your mom touched many lives and had such a positive and profound impact on all that crossed her path. May she be at peace. I'M FREE Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call. I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I found that place at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things, I too, will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief; don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

For all the kindness and love Sue gave this world, I can only image all the love and kindness the Lord is showing her! She helped so many of the most vulnerable kids and adults in our community, and besides being a loving grandma, mom, and wife, I can think of no greater honor and gift to the world and to the Lord.
