Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2001
Steven was born on Christmas Day 1948 in Oshkosh. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1967. He served in the Army Reserves and became a policeman for the City of Neenah in 1970. He married Dawn Zillmer on Valentines Day in 1971, and they recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Steven was an avid hunter, fisherman, street rodder and craftsman. He was a member of Wisconsin Bowhunters Association, past president of Fox Valley Police Pistol League, National Street Rod Association, National Rifle Association, National Wild Turkey Federation – Little Wolf Gobblers Chapter, Fox Valley Gun Club, Otter Street Fishing Club, Buck Masters and Ducks Unlimited. His greatest joy was hunting with his son and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Dawn; son, Steven, Jr. & daughter-in-law, Jessica; and grandson, Samuel Robert. He is also survived by parents, Ralph and Pearl Marhefke; mother-in-law, Joyce Zillmer; sisters, Patricia (Douglas) Schinski, Sara (Jay) Durkee; brothers, Mark (Renee) Marhefke, Jeff (Laura) Marhefke; sister-in-law, Jean Marhefke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Darla Dieck; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie; brother, Tom; and father-in-law, Robert Zillmer. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 16, 2001, at ST JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 318 East Garfield Avenue, Marion, with Rev. Mark Ziemer officiating. Interment will be held at Roseland Cemetery in Marion. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday, June 15, 2001 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. By request a memorial has been established.
