Sondra D. Metoxen

Sondra Metoxen, age 83 of Menasha, passed away on Sunday afternoon, July 23, 2017 at Oakridge Gardens. Sondra was born May 21, 1934, daughter of the late Gordon and Evelyn (Halle) Meyer. She had been married to Patrick Metoxen, who preceded her in death in 1989. In her younger years, Sondra worked in a local bakery, and also helped make Christmas wreaths for the Boys and Girls Brigade. She was a talented cook, and expert woodworker and woodcarver.

Sondra is survived by five children: Vickie (Bill) Paiser of Gresham, Robin (Karen) Ross of Gresham, Nick Metoxen of Maryland, Patrick (Paula) Metoxen of Appleton, and Kristy Metoxen of Menasha. There are eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Barbara Meyer of Appleton and a brother: Dusty (Nancy) Meyer of Chilton; and three sisters-in-law: Mona Delfosse of Menasha, Norma (Jerry) Rammer of Darboy, and Lois Strong of Oneida. Additional survivors include her many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Becky Kabke, a sister Donna (Marvin) Wiegert, and a brother Jesse (Joyce) Meyer.

A memorial service for Sondra will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Rev. Sandra Crase officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Oneida Methodist Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
