Siegfried H. "Sieg" Schoenian

Siegfried Schoenian, age 84, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on November 27, 1928 in Braunschweig, Germany, the son of the late Otto and Marguerite Schoenian. On July 9, 1955, Siegfried married Lois Lemke in Germany. He was a German and French High School teacher at Hamilton High School in Milwaukee. After his retirement in 1990, Sieg was a substitute teacher in the Appleton School System. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, and an avid Packer and Brewers fan.

Siegfried is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Lois; son, Tom Schoenian; and two nephews in Germany. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Schoenian; sister, Ilse (Karl-Heinz) Klussman, and a nephew.

The funeral service for Siegfried will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2330 E. Calumet Street, Appleton. Rev. Roger McQuistion and Rev. Gary Nokleberg will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton.
