Age 77, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 after a brave, short battle with cancer. Shirley was born on February 15, 1931 daughter of the late George Sr. and Mary (Konkle) Subert. Shirley married Robert O. Lettau on July 27, 1948. They had been married for 44 years before his death on January 1, 1992. She was the owner/operator of Kimberly Upholstery Shop for many years before her retirement. Shirley loved reading, the Packers, fishing, her beloved dogs, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Sandy (Gene) Verhagen, Kaukauna; Bobbie (Jim) Van Groll, Kaukauna; Joe (Connie), Combined Locks; Mike, Forest Junction; Jerry (Nancy), Kaukauna; 12 grandchildren, Val, Jenny, Jeff, Brian, Ben, Robbie, Barbara, Carrie, Kim, Amy, Sara, and Tim, and a step grandchild, Christina; and 10 great grandchildren. Shirley is further survived by 2 sisters-in law, Alice Subert, and Joan Subert; brothers- in- law, John (Joyce) Lettau; Tom (Kay) Lettau; and a sister-in law, Sally Schmeider. She was preceded in death by her brothers, George Subert Jr., and Joseph “Scoop” Subert. A memorial visitation to celebrate Shirley's life will be held on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
