I am so sorry for your loss and extend my deepest sympathies. I have had the pleasure of working with Sheldon, Joe Walsh and many others to support bringing the Kaukauna students to see live educational performances at the Fox Cities P.A.C. Sheldon always asked how my son Jackson was doing as he had secretly hoped I would name him "Sheldon" when he was born in 2011 :)

Both Marlyn and I were privileged to work and enjoy Sheldon's leadership in all the various roles he played in the Kaukauna School District. In addition he and I shared some good times in music groups including KCP. Sheldon's quality of valuing and working with people is the stuff that makes quality legends to which generations will aspire to achieve.Important to his story is that he was such a warm, humorous, humble person. Kaukauna has lost a giant in all-around education.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Shel for a short time in the ER before his passing. Even in that short time, I could see his kind and caring nature and the relationship he had with and the love for his family. Even in his illness, he was still smiling and positive. May God grant your family peace. I feel blessed to have met him.

So sorry to hear Sheldon has passed. He will truly be missed. I have a lot of great choir memories with Sheldon and his beautiful voice!! When he sang with his sons, there was always a tear in my eye. It was so beautiful and lovely. The people in heaven now are the lucky ones to get to listen to him. As a former Columbus Dispatch colleague of Mark, I came to know the closeness of the Niquette family and how much Mark cherished getting together with his Mom and Dad and brothers. Mark got excited whenever he talked about fishing with his Dad and brothers and it was easy to see how much his family cherished each other. Their father's positive influence can be found in the goodness of Mark and his brothers. My sincere condolences to Mark and Lisa and the entire Niquette family.

Dianne, and all of Sheldon's loved ones...you captured so well the Sheldon that I knew, learned from, and loved. And I know my mom, who also worked with him, would agree. We have lost a great one...a good man. So sorry for your loss, but envious of all the wonderful memories and time you all had with this compassionate teacher. His presence will be missed but his inspiration will always lead those lucky enough to have crossed his path.

Wayne and I were so sorry to hear about Shel. I knew of his talents and devotion to his family mostly through his sister Sherry. But I had a few lovely conversations with Shel about our mutual love of teaching, and I cherish those. Wayne and I send our condolences to his family and wish you joy and peace in your memories.
Sherry Binsfeld left a message on January 24, 2021:
Mr Niquette was such a thoughtful man. When my daughter was in elementary school she would get off the bus at her friend’s school in Kaukauna. He was so kind that he would drive her to school in Sherwood (where she was suppose to be) as I worked out of town with my permission several times. He didn’t have to do this, but that’s the kind of person he was. My sympathies to your family. Another angel that has been taken from us.
Kathi Hansen left a message on January 24, 2021:
My deep condolences to the family. Sheldon was a truly decent, compassionate man. He was a reading specialist at Haen School when I started teaching there in 1976 and later was my principal at Park School. We worked together when I was a union rep and he was a central office administrator. Shel’s focus, regardless of his position, was always what was best for students and staff. He always treated others with respect and his life is an example for all of us to follow. May your memories bring some comfort at this difficult time.

Sheldon was one of the nicest human beings I’ve met. In fact Sheldon and Diane were one of the first to welcome us to the neighborhood, baked goods and all. He always took the time to say hello and genuinely cared when he asked how you were doing. It’s a shame that we only knew him for six years but am very grateful at the same time. I’m so sorry for everyone’s loss.
