Age 60, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 5, 2006. Shari was born on February 20, 1946, daughter of William and Helen (Sonnenberg) O’Connell. Helen preceded her in death in 1986. Shari operated a collection agency for many years. Recently she was a cook and teacher assistant at Creative Child Learning Center. Going to the cabin “Up Nort,” solving crossword puzzles, being with her family and friends, working in her flower garden, and making crafts were among her favorite activities.

Shari is survived by her husband, Jerry; children: Bill Helf of Cedar Rapids, IA; Lisa (Charlie) Maggard of Hollybush, KY; Rhonda Helf of Menomonie, WI; Gerald (fiancé, Becky Esker) Helf II of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren: Zeke Maggard and Sierra Spiess; and life-long friends, Pat Olson and Patti Kaminski. She was preceded in death by her biological father, Francis Bindert.

The memorial service will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Grace Lutheran Church, 900 N. Mason St., Appleton with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family extends a special thank you to all of the friends and neighbors who shared their time and support.
