Serena was a member of God's Creative Hands at St. Katharine Drexel Beaver Dam in which she made many a prayer shawl for our group. Someone took her the yarn and picked up the shawls she had finished. We appreciate all the wonderful work she did for us while at the Charleston House and someone took home her last prayer shawl to finish in her name. She will be missed.
Remembering your Mom and Dad, two very special people. You have my sympathies! and prayers. Grief is not a sign of weakness or the loss of faith, it is the price of love.
Even at age 93, when my Mom passed in 2011, she sent a cryptic but moving note on her death at 89. My condolences to you, Mary Lee and your family. She was a remarkable woman--very kind and thoughtful.
I had the honor of meeting Serena and Ed for the first time about 6 years ago. What a special couple! Serena is a cousin to my Dad, Les Bevers. On first meeting her and Ed we had a great discussion about family genealogy. I'd like to share information with the family. Please contact me by e-mail [email protected] . Our condolences to the family; we'd love to be there on Saturday to meet our cousins, but are committed out of town.
I grew up on the same street as the Olivas and always thought they were a very special couple. I enjoyed walking by their home and finding them outside so I could say "hello". God Bless them both!!
