Sara Marie Terho-Streck

March 23, 1972 — May 29, 2018

On May 29, 2018, Sara Marie Terho-Streck passed from the arms of her loving family into the waiting arms of Jesus, free from the pain she suffered for eleven months, due to cancer. Sara’s smile and bubbly personality lit up a room. She truly cared about others and put them before herself.

Sara was born March 23, 1972, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, to Robert “Bob” Streck and MarySue “Sue” (Hooyman) Streck. She graduated from St. Mary grade school in Menasha, Kimberly High School, UW-Madison School of Broadcasting, UW-Oshkosh for her political science degree, Grand Canyon University for her Master’s Degree in teaching, and completed her teaching certification in Texas.

She was a 6th grade math teacher in the Bullard, Texas Intermediate School and often enjoyed volunteering with the Bullard band, twirling, and theater activities. Sara was also an active member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Flint, Texas. Sara, Kari, and their family lived in Bullard, Texas for almost six years.

She was a loving, caring, and committed daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. Sara is survived by her precious family, including her devoted husband of twenty-one years: Kari Terho; her adoring children: Anniina, Alek, Anja, and twins Nathan and Natalia. Her parents: Bob and MarySue Streck of Menasha; her siblings: Jay (Lotti) Streck of Darboy, Lori (Dan) Harrmann of Menasha, and Wendy (Paul) Santkuyl of Darboy; mother-in-law: Raija Terho of Finland; sister-in-law: Pia (Jari) Heikkila of Finland; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren, great-nieces, and family and friends.

Sara touched so many lives and will greatly missed. She will forever live in the hearts of her beautiful children and all those who love her.

There was a beautiful funeral mass for Sara in Texas. On Saturday, July 14, 2018, there will be a celebration of Sara’s life at the Darboy Club’s Mallard Room. Please come and join the family anytime between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM to share stories and photos.
