Sara Marie Schewe

Sara Marie Schewe formerly of Madison, 35, beloved daughter of Ronald and Ruth Schewe passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 at home after a three year battle with brain cancer. She was born on May 5, 1977 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Sara moved with her family to Appleton the summer of 1991. She graduated with honors from Appleton East High School in 1995 then attended UW Madison. Upon graduation, she lived in Madison and worked in sales, first at American Computer Software, then at Humana Insurance and finally until her diagnosis at Shadowfax, all in Madison.

Sara enjoyed cooking, baking and creating her own recipes. She had her own food blog “My Madison Bistro” posting recipes regularly up until a year ago. She also enjoyed reading and watching the Badgers and Packers. She especially loved spending time with her nieces and of course, playing with her beloved cat, Eleanor. Sara moved back to Appleton in July of 2012 living with her parents until her death.

Survivors include her parents; Ronald and Ruth Schewe of Appleton, her brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Mandy Schewe, her nieces; Kendall and Brynn Schewe all of Menasha. She is further survived by her paternal grandmother Lucille Schewe of Caroline, aunts and uncles; Judy (Warren) Sousek of Leoplis, Rueben Reinke of Marion, Larry (Susan)Reinke of Wisconsin Rapids, Bob and Mary Pluger of Tilleda, and her cousins including Jeff and Tim Sousek, Debbie (Kevin) Rades, Brian (Brenda) Pluger, Joanie (Kyle) Albert, Julie (John) Berger, Marcy (Jim) Rineck, Jennifer (Eric) Sarauer, and Amy (Ryan) Mikel. In addition to her family members she is survived by numerous special friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal Grandparents, Rueben and Mariena Reinke, maternal step grandmother, Luella Reinke and paternal grandfather, Herb Schewe. Also preceding her in death her aunts; Alice Pluger and Karen Reinke and uncle Randy Schewe.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Ave, Appleton. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Special thanks to the kind nurses of Heartland Hospice. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude's Children's Research Center or the American Brain Tumor Association. Sara, you have left this earth but will never leave our hearts.
