Though she fought with grace, dignity, and determination, Sandra Walbrun lost her fight against cancer on Friday night, February 4, 2011. She was 76. Sandra was born in Appleton on Christmas Day of 1934, daughter of the late Harvey and Bonita (Agen) Neuman. For many years, she worked in housekeeping at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, retiring as coordinator. In her retirement, she also enjoyed working for TransData. On February 8, 1998, Sandra was united in marriage to Larry Walbrun. Sandra was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother: she was always giving of herself to others, always there to offer guidance or assistance, and always took one day at a time. She lived life to the fullest, and loved spending time with her family. Sandra loved all manner of sports, especially if her grandchildren were participating. She also liked to golf, travel, and visit the casinos. Sandra always enjoyed the company of her favorite grand-dog, Princess Shadow Marie, and has now joined her in heaven.

Sandra is survived by her husband: Larry Walbrun of Menasha;

Three children: Cindy Gillespie of Naples, Florida; Jon (Wanda) Gillespie of Appleton and their children Amy (Nathan Herrick) Gillespie and Stephanie Gillespie; and Jayne (Sam) Carroll of Gresham and their sons Jacob, Steven, and Deacon.

Sandra is further survived by four step-children: Larry (Linda) Walbrun of Hudson, Wisconsin and their children Caitlin and Ben; Mike (Laura) Walbrun of Grafton and their sons Matthew and Aaron; Kim Walbrun of Neenah, and her son Nick; and Kevin (Amy) Walbrun of Grafton and their children Becky (Mike) Walter, Kaylee, and Alex. There is also a great-grandson: Benjamin Walter.

Additional survivors include Sandra's sister-in-law: Joan Neuman, and Larry's brothers and sisters: Richard (Arlene) Walbrun of Greenville; Harvey Walbrun and his special friend Sue of Menasha; Roman (Judy) Walbrun of Neenah; Paul (Carol) Walbrun of California; Roger (Ethel) Walbrun of Appleton; Ken (Mary) Walbrun of Menasha; Carol (Doug) Cottrell of Sherwood; and Frances (Jim) Larson of Neenah; and a sister-in-law: Mary Ann Walbrun of Menasha.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Alex Carroll, brothers Wayne, Florian, and Vilas; and brothers-in-law: Jim and George.
