Ryan Olson

Ryan Olson, 37, of Greenville, died Saturday, September 1, 2018. Ryan was born on June 22, 1981 in Neenah, the son of Timothy and Terry (Johnson) Olson. He grew up in Oshkosh and was a graduate of Oshkosh West High School and The University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh where he studied philosophy. Ryan married Kate (Hull) Olson on June 9, 2012 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Ryan enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing many sports as a child and took pride in passing that on to his children. He had a unique sense of humor that could make anyone crack a smile. He lived for his kids and left no stone unturned as he chased his own cure. Ryan loved time spent on Lido Key in Florida where he will be part of the sunsets forever.

Ryan will be carried on in the hearts of his wife: Kate Olson, and two children: Soren and Elin of Greenville; his parents: Timothy and Terry Olson of Oshkosh; grandmother: Lorraine Olson of Oshkosh; a sister: Bethany (Eric) Nieft of Appleton; a niece and nephew: Hadley and Samuel Nieft; and Kate’s parent’s: Patrick and Nancy Hull of De Pere. He will also be remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and an entire community of friends!

The memorial service for Ryan will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, located at 2600 E. Phillip Lane in Appleton. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A reception will follow at the Stoneyard in Greenville, N1739 Lily of the Valley Drive in Greenville. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the medical staff at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center in Appleton, Memorial Regional Cancer Center in South Bend, Indiana, Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Denver, Colorado, ThedaCare Regional Hospital Appleton Campus, Cancer Commons and especially the team chasing the cure at EpicentRx.
