Ruth R. Rammer, age 93, died Saturday evening, February 18, 2006, at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1912, in Kaukauna, to the late William and Mary (Rice) Paschen. Ruth graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1930 and Kaukauna Normal School in 1931. She taught school in Black Creek and Greenville from 1931-1938, in a one room schoolhouse with all 8 grades. Ruth married Joseph G. Rammer on June 22, 1943, in Niagara Falls, New York; he preceded her in death on December 27, 1996. Ruth and Joe built their home on Adams Street in Neenah and lived there for over 50 years. Joe and Ruth loved traveling and were avid campers. They spent many happy winters in Oleander Acres, Texas. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church, Neenah, where she taught Sunday School for many years, the United Methodist Women, Elizabeth Circle and the Asbury Club of the church. She was also the surviving member of the Sew-What Club.
Ruth and Joe had three children, sons, James (Sharon) Rammer, Menasha; John Rammer, Appleton. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Mary Alice in 1970. Family was everything to Ruth. Besides her boys, Ruth leaves her beloved grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Rammer, Darboy; Christina (Scott) Kelly, Darboy; as well as her four great grandchildren, Courtney and Kelsey Rammer and Lauren and Ryan Kelly. Ruth also leaves her sister, Alice (Leonard) Stockmeier, Tucson, AZ; a sister-in-law, Frances Paschen, Kaukauna; a brother-in-law, Chester (Muriel) Rammer and a sister-in-law, Germaine Frank, Whitefish Bay, WI; and special niece and nephew, Gail (Harvey) Jansen and family, Tucson, AZ and Craig (Grazyna) Stockmeier and family, Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her brother, Howard Paschen, her great grandson, Ethan Kelly and most recently (just 10 days) by her childhood friend, Gladys Cook.
Funeral services for Ruth will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 108 West Doty Street, Neenah, with Reverend Gordon Lind officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Neenah. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday, from 10:00 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
