Fuchsgruber, Ruth M.

Ruth Matilda Fuchsgruber, age 88, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2009. She was born in Dorchester, Wisconsin, on June 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Edward and Isabella (Schmitt) Fuchsgruber. Ruth graduated with her Bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and began her career as an elementary school teacher in Athens, Wisconsin. In 1955, Ruth moved to Kimberly and began teaching at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School. After a few years, Ruth left teaching to lovingly care for her mother and sister, Dawn, as their health diminished. She resumed her teaching career at St. John's Catholic School in Little Chute until her retirement in 1985. She was a devout member of Holy Name Catholic Church who loved to walk to church and Sunset Park. Ruth loved to spend time with her nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and spent many hours teaching them how to read and play cards. For many years, Ruth enjoyed her weekly meals at Old Country Buffet with her family.

Ruth is lovingly survived by her sister, Gretchen Seidel, and her nephews: Dr. Barry (Donah) Seidel of Minocqua, Mark Seidel of Fond du Lac, John (Pat) Seidel of Bonduel, Tom (Barb) Seidel of Fond du Lac; nieces: Vicki (Rick) Looze of Ft. Atkinson, Mary (Ken) Thiele of Winterhaven, FL., Kathy (Ted) Van Grinsven of Kimberly and Judy (John) Reider of Kimberly. Ruth is further survived by her 22 grand nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Fuchsgruber, grand-nephew, Jeff Thiele and brother-in-law, Art Seidel.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Ruth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Holy Spirit Parish, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. David Beaudry officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Ruth's family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Pauline and her family for all their love and friendship. Ruth very much looked forward to those Saturday meals. Also a special thanks to Fr. Dave for his spiritual guidance in our time of need and to Barbie, Holly and the staff at Heartland Hospice for all their care for Ruth.
