Age 80, was born to eternal life at her home on Sunday, January 19, 2003. She was born in Wrightstown on January 28, 1922, daughter of the late Anton and Anna (Gerrits) Van Vreede. She married Alvin Casper in Eyer, Massachusetts on April 5, 1942. He preceded her in death in 1983. Ruth liked to fish and said she was “best fisherwoman in the state.” She was an avid packer fan and even attended the “Ice Bowl.” Ruth dearly loved her family and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by two daughters: Sandy (Eugene) Evenson of Neenah and Peggy (and special friend Mitchell) Casper of Green Bay; 14 grandchildren: Barry (special friend Ann) Seidel, Barbie (Eric) Boyer, Susie (Jay) Scandin, Christy (John) Nemcek, Greg (Fiance Jill) Seidel, Tracy (Mike) Winter, David (and special friend Stephanie) Derfus, Sera (and special friend Jem) Froland, Tony Casper, Nikki Casper, Debra (Mike) Elsbecker, Diane (Jeff) Weyenberg, Daniel Evenson, and David (Stacy) Evenson; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Eugene (Katie) Van Vreede of South Carolina; and a sister, Elaine Yunk of Kimberly. Ruth is further survived by many special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Alvin, her parents, and a sister, Dorothy Gracyalna.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2003, at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, 204 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Sister Annette Koss officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery, Wrightstown.

The family would like to extend a personal thank you to Ed and Jen Gerhartz for all the devoted attention they gave to Ruth.
