Russell R. " Feuerstein

April 24, 1928 — May 3, 2015

Russell Feuerstein, age 87, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015. He was born on April 24, 1928 in Appleton, to the late Raymond and Melinda (Daelke) Feuerstein. On November 19, 1947, Russ married Laverne Olson in Florence, Wisconsin. Russ was employed for over 35 years with American Can. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. Russ enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time in his yard. He looked forward to his hunting and fishing trips, along with trap shooting, golfing, and snowmobiling. Russ had a fond place in his heart for dogs, and was an avid Packers, Brewers, and NASCAR fan.

Russ is survived by his daughters: Gail (Randy Wilson) Feuerstein, Shirley (Pete) Wright, Debbie (Jeff) Heiting, Terry (Scott) Park, and Cindy (Rick VanRooy) Feuerstein; grandchildren: Jennifer (Erik) Cobb and P.J. (Priscilla) Wright; Ryan Heiting, Kevin Heiting, and Justin (Amber) Heiting; great grandchildren: Brenda Heiting; Hannah Heiting; Tyler and Ethan Cobb; Izzy Postel; sister, Doris Swanson; and brother-in-law, Art Theiss. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Russ was preceded in death by his wife, Laverne “Marie” Feuerstein, his sister Lois Theiss, and brother-in-law Carl Swanson.

The funeral liturgy for Russ will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 8, 2015 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street in Appleton. Fr. Dennis Ryan will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

A special thank you to Laurie, his hospice nurse from Affinity Hospice, for her compassion and care.

I had a good life. I did all the things I loved – hunt – fish – trap shoot. I loved my buddies – they kept me young. I loved my wife, she was the best thing that ever happened to me, and my harem.
