Beloved husband, father and grandfather, age 84, died on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at Century Oaks. Rudy was born in Elmhurst, WI, on August 27, 1920, son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Reminer) Kalz. He married Germaine Londo on April 22, 1950. Rudy served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 346th Full Artillery-Medical Detachment, 91st Division. He was employed at Riverside Paper Company for 39 years, retiring in 1985. Rudy was a longtime member of Sacred Heart. He was also a 25 year member of the Riverside Paper Quarter Century Club. Rudy loved baseball and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Rudy will be greatly missed by his wife, Germaine; his daughters, Debbie (Steve) Twomey; Sue (Mike) Sokel; his brother, Henry and friend, Lucy; 6 grandchildren: Holly, Jason (Gina) and Mike Twomey; Shane and friend Becky, Luke and Katherine Sokel; 3 great-grandchildren and 3 sisters-in-law, Bern Londo; Lorraine Kalz and Rita Londo. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Leo and Josephine Londo; 4 brothers; 5 sisters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, Appleton, with Rev. Norman Krutzik officiating. Visitors will be received at the church on Tuesday, October 19 from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The burial will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Century Oaks and hospice nurse Mary, for their loving care of Rudy. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established.
