Rosemary A. Liebergen

May 22, 1919 — January 8, 2006

Age 86, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2005 at Franciscan Care Center in Appleton. Rosemary was born May 22, 1919 in Morrison, daughter of the late James and Mildred (Campbell) Collins. On September 14, 1940, she married Eugene Liebergen; he preceded her in death on January 30, 1989. Rosemary was a longtime and faithful member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers Society. In her younger years, she volunteered countless hours at the church and school. She also enjoyed her many years of washing dishes at Mike and Donna’s business, the Leap In in Freedom. There she kept up on everything new in town. Those who knew her will always remember how proud she was of her Irish heritage.

Rosemary is survived by four children: Donna (James) Hameister of Appleton; Nancy (Ken) VanDenHeuvel of DePere; Michael (Donna) Liebergen of Freedom; and Darlene (Dennis) Woods of Freedom; ten grandchildren: Susan (Pat) Borree, Joe (Ann) Hameister, Paula (Greg) Stec, Ed (Heidi) VanDenHeuvel, Jeff VanDenHeuvel, Jason VanDenHeuvel, Jill (Nick) Cropsey, Crystal Liebergen and her fiancé Kevin VandeHey, Wendy (Jay) Effa, and Jamie Lewin; eleven great-grandchildren: Josh, Ella, Brittney, Briana, Riley, Macie, Liberty, Lucas, Tanner, Brennan, and Skyler. Rosemary is also survived by two sisters: A. Catherine Lindeman of Green Bay and Ruth (Chuck) Peters of Florida; two sisters-in-law: Sally Collins of DePere and June Collins of Allouez. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene in 1989, sons Eugene Jr. and John Liebergen, and brothers John “Ed” Collins and James Collins. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral liturgy for Rosemary will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLICH CHURCH, N4088 County Road E in Freedom, with Fr. John Schuetze officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the mass.
