Rosella W. Knight

Rosella Knight, age 89, of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Valley VNA Assisted Living in Neenah. She was born on August 3, 1923 in Little Chute, the daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Ebben) Kilsdonk. On November 30, 1944, Rosella married Edward Knight. They shared 33 years together before his passing. Rosella was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her passion was sewing, crocheting, and knitting for her family, and over the years she proudly made hundreds of baptismal gowns for the church, and knitted baby blankets for WIC. Rosella volunteered in the community, including the Franciscan Care Center and Meals on Wheels. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved being involved with her children and grandchildren's activities.

Rosella is survived by her children: Rosemary Stingle; Linda Fahrenkrug; Patricia (Eddie) Mason; Richard (Carol) Knight; Ann Vander Wyst; Tim (Darla) Knight; and Dolores (Mike) Santkuyl; grandchildren: Kara (Paul) Cousineau, Ken Jr. (Heather) Stingle, and Helen (Larry) Marson; Desiree (Joseph) Bongers and Scott Fahrenkrug; Edward (Tonya) Davis, Patrick Davis, Timothy (Sarah) Davis, and Stephen Davis; Tom (Gretchen) Knight and Christie (Quinn) Probasco; Danielle (Cory) Van De Hey and Travis (special friend Brooke Landwehr) Vander Wyst; Jennifer (Joseph) Smits and Benjamin Santkuyl; 19 great grandchildren; brother: Norbert (Mary) Kilsdonk; sisters-in-law: Beth Kilsdonk, Betty Witt, and Del Knight. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Knight; son, Edward “Butch” Knight, Jr. ; sons-in-law: Kenneth Stingle and Larry Vander Wyst; grandson: Christopher Santkuyl; two brothers, and three sisters.

The funeral liturgy for Rosella will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton. Fr. Rene Balbero will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Rosella's family would like to thank the staff on Emerald Court at the Valley VNA for the excellent care and compassion shown to Rosella and her family over the years.
