As a former Chicagoan and retired teacher form the Chicago Public School System, I was a Bulls fan when Ron was on the team. I did not know he was that Ron Dunlap and had relocated to Wisconsin. Somehow, I missed that information. I am also a resident of Wisconsin and an ardent supporter of WPR. I commend him for his dedication to education, and setting an example any one can follow.
Condolences to his wife, Yvette, and family. He will be missed

I have fond memories of Ron during my time in Appleton.

Ron was a humble servant who did not let his impressive achievements prevent him from giving so generously to other, as he did to me and my family.

Ron was a wonderful friend and mentor for me as a husband, father, executive, fellow motorcycle enthusiast, boxing fan and more.

May he Rest In Peace!

Miss you, man.

I will certainly miss this fantastic guy, popping up in the oddest places! And his uncanny knack, for knowing your name, without hesitation....truly, a very gifted and absolutely loved and respected man. I still remember my daughter, being all of 6 years old.....every time she saw Mr. Dunlap, she would run up to him, and hug his knees! My son, just thought that Mr. Dunlap was a cool “fill-in” for teachers that called in sick. When I became a single parent, Mr. Dunlap was my encouragement, to be two people, even when I was alone. My kids did not become a statistic, even though the odds were stacked. Just watching Mr. Dunlap (all darn near 7 feet....) bend over to talk to a kid, was the most heartwarming picture.....kids were important and deserved his absolute attention, they would naturally give him their respect.

I only saw Ron a few times each year, when we sat across the aisle from each other at Lawrence U. Jazz Series concerts, But our brief conversations were an unexpected highlight, and when the first concert takes place in just a week or so, I will really miss his presence. He was just the kind of person who made you feel so good, and I was also well aware of his importance to the community since my wife was an AASD teacher. He was every bit a mensch.

Yvette and family members:
Thoughts and Prayers for the family during this time in your life. Mr. Dunlap was my principal in the Bellwood, Illinois District 88 School System. I also had the opportunity to teach his daughter Taylor.
Mr. Dunlap was an excellent Administrator, Educator, and Role Model in the Chicago and Chicagoland Suburban Regions. He touched many Children, Educators, and Parents lives during his tenure in the Bellwood, Illinois School System . We lost a Great Role Model in our community when he relocated to Appleton, Wisconsin. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work under his Leadership and Guidance. I will forever be grateful that Mr. Dunlap gave me the opportunity to be one of his teachers. The "Dash" between Mr. Dunlap Date of Birth - Date of his Homegoing has been a life of service to and for others throughout his life; however, because of that service and dedication to others, Mr. Dunlap legacy will live on for many generations. He will be greatly missed.
