Dear Mandi and Mara, I am so sorry to hear of the unexpected passing of your father. It sure looks like he was a man who just loved life! You are in my thoughts and prayers. I think of you often.

Rollie was a very close and dear friend of mine for sixty years as we served together in the Navy during the Korean War. He, Joe Baker, Tony Sullivan and I served as Electronic Technicians on board the USS Virgo AKA 20 which operated as ammunition supply ship supporting Task Force 77 from Sasebo, Japan to W√Ö¬ùnsan, Korea. During the time we remained together, Rollie transposed the four of us into a Barber Shop Quartet that we christened 'The Four Naval Chords'. And, although we might not have been the best, we had lots of fun... Rollie's passing saddened me greatly and now I am the last remaining member of that wonderful Barbershop Quartet...

Judy and Family, My deepest condolences to all of you during this difficult time. Rollie truly left a wonderful legacy in so many different ways. Of course, we'll always remember and miss his sensational bass voice, but most of all, his friendship. We miss you, Mr. Bassman. Rest your ore, shipmate, we have the watch.
