VAN DINTER, ROGER P.

Roger Van Dinter, of Appleton, age 75, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Brewster Village. He was born on December 21, 1933 in Little Chute, the son of the late Peter and Janet (Fisher) Van Dinter. Roger was self-employed and owned several businesses over the years. He enjoyed buying and selling cars, fishing, playing cards and cooking. Roger loved spending time with his dogs and frequenting auctions.

He is survived by his children: Gary (fiancé Lee Ann Ness) Van Dinter, Appleton; Gregg Van Dinter, Greenville; Barry (Lori) Van Dinter, Appleton; Diane (special friend Jeff Mashuda) Van Dinter, Appleton and Rod Van Dinter, Appleton; grandchildren: Brittany, Samuel and Nicholas Van Dinter; Amanda and Heath Hofacker; sister: Sally (William) Bolwerk, Kimberly and his brother: Dennis Van Dinter, Little Chute. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.

We carry the people we love on through our love. Roger was a man, son, brother, father, grandfather, but above all, a teacher. His love had no boundaries or exceptions. All he wished for in his lifetime was to spread this great love, and to encourage others to do the same. Physically, he may no longer be with us, but his spirit and very essence are immortal. Death is only a horizon, and a horizon is nothing but a limitation of our sight. We now must learn to see Roger through our hearts and memories and may the heart of his very being become us. We may have lost a man, but we have gained an angel at our sides. We love you Roger, always in all ways.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Brewster Village for their kind compassionate care to Roger, especially Sue, Cassie, Mandy, Ramiro and Maria.
