Rodney A. Matz, 66, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Theda Clark Hospital. Rodney was born on April 12, 1944 to the late Herman and Hildegard (Tews) Matz in Shawano. He graduated from Bowler High School and then received a Bachelors degree in Business from UW Whitewater. On January 29, 1966 Rodney married Carolyn Schumacher in Bowler, WI. He worked in warehouse management for JC Penney Catalog Distribution Center for 37 years until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Rodney is survived by his wife, Carolyn, Neenah, 2 children; Michael (Jeanne) Matz, Krakow and Deanna (John) Schuppel, Madison, 5 grandchildren; Sarah, Michael and Heidi Matz and Augustus and Oliver Schuppel, his twin sister, Rita (Dewey) Norton, Port Charlotte, FL, and a brother, Gene (Yvonne) Matz, Greenville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Rodney was preceded in death by his sister Esther West. A Memorial Service for Rodney will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00 AM at SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH (N1615 Meadowview Dr. Greenville) with Rev. Paul Shackel officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Dollars for Scholars Scholarship program at the Bowler High School. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Neenah Fresenius Dialysis Center and the Theda Clark ICU, physicians and staff for all their comfort and support.
