Robin E. Burton

July 26, 1963 — October 15, 2013

Robin E. Burton, age 50, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning October 15, 2013 with her family by her side. She fought a 5 ½ year battle with non-smokers lung cancer and a short but courageous fight against leukemia. She taught us all how it is possible to live and thrive despite a cancer diagnosis. Robin never once gave up hope and will continue to inspire all whose lives have been touched by her faith, strength and kindness.

Robin was born on July 26, 1963 in Appleton, the daughter of Marvin and Margaret (Brandt) Beyer. Robin graduated from Appleton East High School in 1981. On October 20, 1985 she married her high school sweet heart Daniel Burton. Together they raised 3 wonderful children. Robin loved to bake delicious desserts for her friends and family. She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, and rummaging on summer mornings with hopes of paying half the sticker price.

Robin will be forever missed by her loving husband and caregiver, Dan, their children Maggie, Sam, and Laura and their spoiled beagle, Molly. She is survived by her brothers and sisters Barbara (Gary) Schultz, Marvin Beyer, Beverly (William) Hafs, Daniel Beyer; Brothers and Sisters-in-Law, Mary (Gilbert) Low, Robert (Julie) Burton, Barbara Burton, Joseph (Ellen) Burton, and Julie (Kevin) Borden. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, close friends, and incredible neighbors. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law Cecilia and Robert Burton, and her brother-in-law David Burton.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at CHRIST THE KING CHURCH, 601 S Washington Street, Combined Locks, WI, at 11:00 am with Pastor Tim Krick officiating. Friends may call the night before, on Friday, October 18, 2013, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 E Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, WI. Friends may call again at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

Robin's family gives a sincere thank you to Dr. Goggins, the awesome staff at FVHO, the caring nurses and special staff at St. Elizabeth's Hospital fourth floor oncology. They would also like to give a special thank you to everyone involved in Robin's benefit, from the organizers, donors, Dan's co-workers and the friends who made it happen.

She will be missed and loved by all who knew her. She changed the way people look at cancer.

“Friends don't let friends fight cancer alone.”
