Age 72
Of Appleton, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born July 25, 1922 in Appleton to the late Rudolph and Martha (Pahl) Rehfeldt. Bob graduated from Appleton West in 1942. He married the former Dorothy Steffens on October 22, 1949 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Menasha. Bob worked for a short time at Marathon Mill and then trained as a dental technician. He worked at the Appleton Dental Lab for 25 years. Then he was employed at the Twin City Dental Lab until his retirement in 1987. Bob played for the American Legion Baseball team in the 1940’s as a pitcher and first baseman. He was a member of the Musicians Union Local 537. Bob played Spanish electric guitar since 16 years of age. He had his own orchestra called the Kingsters. The group played at many night clubs, weddings and showers. Bob was a member of AARP and a former member of the Valley Rock and mineral Club. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren, the neighbor children and a special little friend, Brad Best. Survivors include: wife, Dorothy; a daughter Cindy (Ed) Sypek, Neenah; two sons: Robert, Jr. (Carol), Appleton; David, Appleton; two grandchildren: Nick and Jenny Rehfeldt; a sister, Lois McClone, Milwaukee; a brother, Don (Martha) Rehfeldt, Fallbrook, CA; an aunt, Erna Trittin, Appleton; nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends: Joyce Peterson and Phillip Zuberbier family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ervin; a sister, Ruth; and a nephew, Vince Rehfeldt. Bob loved his family and had a great love for life and a great love for music. The Mass of the Resurrection will be Saturday, March 25, 1995 at 11 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 South State St. with Father Michael O’Rourke officiant with interment at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may call Friday from 6- 8 PM at the funeral home and at the church one hour prior to the service. There will be a prayer service Friday evening at 7:30 pm.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lowell Peterson for giving us 15 more years with Bob and also Dr. James Mariano and the nurses and staff in ICU and second floor at Appleton Medical Center for their care and kindness.
