Age 73, died Tuesday March 27, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Robert was born June 27, 1927 to the late Alfred and Mary (Wolf) Ballering. He married Arline LaCoss on November 16, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI. Robert was a longtime, faithful and devoted member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church. He was constantly assisting area Churchs with various projects. Robert was the former owner and operator of Sure Controls Co.

He is survived by his wife, Arline; two sons, Mark (Jennell) Ballering and Scott (Bonnie) Ballering; four grandchildren, Nick and Eva Ballering and Lana and Cassie Ballering; one brother, Jacob (Blanche) Ballering; two sisters, Kathleen Padgett and Agnes Dunbar; and a sister in law, Lillian Ballering.

He was preceded in death by his parents and ten brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2001 at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 South Mason Street, Appleton with Rev. David F. Pagel officiating. Viewing and visitation will be at the FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday at CHURCH from 10:00 AM until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church.
