Robert "Jay, Chief" Pyatskowit

Robert J. Pyatskowit, age 61, passed away on January 15, 2013, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on August 24, 1951, in Keshena, WI; the son of Andrew Sr. and Philomena (Waupoose) Pyatskowit. Robert's parents passed away early in his life and he was blessed with two sets of foster parents, Wesley and Marcella Kingston and Howard and Sandy Ganong Jr. He graduated in 1970, from Suring High School. On July 21, 1972 he married Marian Combes in Oshkosh. Robert worked at Kimberly Paper Mill for 37 years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, softball, hunting, camping and fishing. Robert was blessed to be surrounded by his family this past Christmas and to spend lots of time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by foster father, Howard Ganong Jr., his wife of 40 ¬Ω years, Marian, five children, Robert W. (Melissa), Amanda (Christopher) Schnell, Sandra (Ron) Babcock, Elizabeth (Adam Brown) Pyatskowit, and Mariah Pyatskowit, honorary daughter, Wendy Burhans, 15 grandchildren, Nicole, Jesse and Maggie Rose Pyatskowit, Nathan and Morgan Schnell, Ashley (Brent) Taylor, Corey Babcock, Billie Jo Pyatskowit, Samantha Pyatskowit, Noah Babcock, Layne, Zariea and Jase Brown, Mia Andrews and Silus Bork, two great-grandchildren, Clayton and Evelyn Taylor, brothers and sisters, Andy (Cyndi) Pyatskowit, Al (Gloria) Pyatskowit, Margaret (Rick) Straka, Marty (Tina) Ganong, Jimmy (Robbie) Ganong and Andy Ganong, brothers and sisters-in-law, Lee (Shari) Combes, Ruth Blankenship, Jean (Joe) Morien, Laura (Jeff) Wire, Frank (Lisa) Combes, special aunt, Imogene Krueger and special cousin, Juli Schmidt, Robert is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, foster parents, Wesley and Marcella Kingston and Sandy Ganong, sister, Barbara Jean Pyatskowit , granddaughter Shannan Babcock, grandbaby Pyatskowit, brother-in-law, Jim Blankenship, nephew, Christopher Combes, and parents-in-law, William and Althea Combes.
Funeral service for Robert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Mountain Church of Christ, 14299 Cty Rd W, Mountain, WI; with Pastor Rod Nielsen officiating. Friends and family may visit at the CHURCH on Sunday from 12:00 NOON until the time of service and also on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 North Superior Street, Appleton, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Town of Mountain Cemetery.
