Robert H. Davidson

Bob Davidson, age 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015. Bob was born in Harvard, Illinois on February 10, 1924, son of the late Richard and Mary Davidson who were British citizens. When Bob was a young boy, the family relocated to Northern Ireland where he was raised and attended school. At the tender age of sixteen he joined the British military to fight in World War II, and when he became of age in 1942, joined the United States Army. On July 3, 1948, Bob married Jaeileen Rackerby in Reno, Nevada, and shortly thereafter, a daughter Jeanne Marie was born in 1953. After a long military career and having reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, he then retired from military service and worked for the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. He retired in 1972. In their later years, the couple moved to Appleton to be near to their longtime friends, Bill and Kiki Harke, who have watched over them these last years.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years: Jaeileen Davidson of Appleton; and his good friends: Bill and Kiki Harke; their children: Paul, Bill, and Lindsay; and their grandchildren: Ali and Jason Harke. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Jeanne Marie, and brothers Richard and Raymond.

The funeral liturgy for Bob will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street in Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Burial will be back home in California, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Sacramento.
