Many will remember Bob for his love of sports, especially baseball and his involvement with Kimberly's youth baseball program. He coached many youngsters over the years in Little League and Pony League, and continued to mentor young athletes until his final day. He also started the basketball program at Westside Elementary and coached there for a time as well. In addition to being a sports enthusiast, Bob enjoyed his cottage on Lake Poygan and spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. Bob was a generous man, who was always willing to share his skills by helping family and friends with various construction and remodeling projects.

He is survived by his wife: Carol Boots of Kimberly; five children: Mary (Ralph) Van Nuland of Kimberly; Dr. James “Jim” (Joan) Boots of Combined Locks; Margery (Jay) Blondin of Combined Locks; Dr. William “Bill” (Emilie) Boots of Combined Locks; and Judy (Steve Becker) Boots-Becker of DePere; thirteen grandchildren: Ellen Christie, Rebecca Van Nuland, Jacob Van Nuland, Matthew Boots, Eric Boots, Kevin Boots, Kimberly Boots, Thomas Blondin, Joshua Blondin, Elizabeth Boots, Jennifer Boots, Benjamin Boots, and Luke Becker. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Helen Bolwerk and a brother-in-law Ronald Vande Hey.
