DEAR DAD

Dear Dad, you were strong in your faith and physically strong too
You worked hard for your family and we looked up to you.
You enjoyed fishing and boating in the Dunphy
You loved driving your Buicks because they were so comfy.
You especially liked driving around Shawano Lake
With Mom beside you, you didn’t care how long the drive would take .
Your trips out west with Mom were some of the best days of your life
It was on one your favorite pastimes as husband and wife.
Your family was truly your pride and your joy
With one baby girl and three amazing boys.
You loved taking rides to visit us all
Just a quick little stay and then you’d be off on your next call.
Your grandkids brought you joy and put a smile on your face
And oh how you’d light up when you’d see Emmitt and Dalis.
You loved Amber and Cody and Joe and Michelle
And shared a special military bond with Brian, as well.
Your dedicated service to our country was grand
In Korea you served to protect our rights and our land.
You loved riding your bicycle and moped around
So many people knew that around town you’d be found.
Waving and saying hello as you went by
With a smile on your face and a friendly “hello and goodbye”.
Growing up on Mueller Street was such a great place
There were many traditions in that memory-filled space.
There was Pierce Park and 4th of July cookouts and more
And Christmas Eve gatherings with presents galore.
Now as those traditions carry on without you and Mom here
We will raise our glasses and to both of you cheer
Thank you Dad and Mom for all that you’ve done
May you both enjoy being reunited together again as one.
May the presence of Jesus bring you joy, love and peace
As your earthly challenges are now gone and released.
We shed tears of sorrow but there is also joy in those tears
Knowing we’ll all be together again someday takes away any fears.
We love you Dad, and will miss you so much
Tell Mom we love her too and we miss her special touch.

With all our Love,
Bob, Tim, Sherry, Danny, Patty, Joe, Michelle, Brian, Amber, Cody, Dalis and Emmitt
