Age 71, former Medina resident, died Saturday, June 30, 2001, at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. Robert was born on April 7, 1930, in Kimberly to the late Albert and Wilhemina (Kasten) Schroeder. He married Nancy J. Krause on September 7, 1957, in Appleton. Robert served his country in the United States Army and was employed as a truck driver for Inter Lake Papers Inc., Kimberly (formerly Midtec), until his retirement in 1990. He was a well-known stock car driver in the area for over 30 years; was a member of American Legion Post 55 of Hortonville; was a forme r member of the Hortonville Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club; enjoyed pool, bowling and was a fan of WWF wrestling. Robert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy; his son, Robert Schroeder (special friend, Vicki), Medina; two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Hidde, New London, and Julia (Chris) Koga, Medina; his brother, Earl (Dorothy) Schroeder, Appleton; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Schroeder, Appleton; six grandchildren, James, Dustin, Jennifer and Derrik Koga, Matthew Schroeder and Michael Hidde; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Baby Bear. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norbert. Private family services will be held. A memorial has been established in his name.
